Recognizing and Responding to AVMs in Children

While AVMs are rare, early recognition is critical.
Symptoms to watch for include:
Severe, sudden headaches that may be unlike anything the child has experienced before.
Seizures, even if it’s the first time the child has had one.
Dizziness or fainting, often without a clear cause.
Blurred or double vision or other unexplained visual disturbances.
Unusual weakness or numbness, particularly on one side of the body.
